Fujisan Station Hotel

8,9/10
Very Good

I stayed at Fujisan Station Hotel and found it quite convenient overall. The location is excellent, just across from Mt. Fuji Station, making it very easy to get around. Check-in was done with the staff and went smoothly. Free parking is available, which is a plus. There is no onsen and no complimentary bottled water, but there is a free ice machine in the dining area, along with vending machines for snacks and drinks. The water faucet is an old-style rotary type. Breakfast starts at 7:00 AM, but food runs out quickly due to the large number of guests. The buffet includes scrambled eggs, grilled mackerel, rice, miso soup, salad, fresh milk, and granola. The small bread rolls and mini croissants were not very good. The twin room was clean, but the beds were quite firm and not very comfortable.

Stayed at The Gran Resort Princess Fujikawaguchiko and had a great overall experience. The room was very spacious, and I like that they offer mostly twin and triple bed setups, which feel comfortable and practical. The best part is that every room has a view of Mt. Fuji, which makes the stay really special. The onsen was also very nice—clean, relaxing, and a great way to unwind after a day out. Service was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Food was decent, nothing too standout but still enjoyable. Location-wise, it worked well for me since I rented a car. However, it might be less convenient if you rely on public transport. Overall, a great stay if you want space, a good onsen, and a guaranteed Fuji view.

The rooms were clean, and the dinner and breakfast included in our stay were delicious. We could see Mount Fuji from the restaurant, our room, and even while soaking in the hot spring. Plus, there's free parking right across from the hotel.

An Unexpected Gem – One of the Best Resorts We’ve Ever Stayed At We booked this resort near Mount Fuji very late, and we were really worried because almost everything was already sold out. But it turned out to be one of the most wonderful stays we’ve ever had on any of our trips to Japan. The resort has several staff members who speak Vietnamese, and they helped us so much. Every time we needed to go somewhere, the shuttle bus took us to the station—even the times when I requested it late without booking an hour in advance, they still tried their best to arrange a pickup. Their kindness truly showed how much they care about their guests. From the driver to the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone was incredibly warm, friendly, and always smiling. They were genuinely adorable and made us feel so welcomed. Our room was a huge surprise: a massive apartment-style space with four beds even though there were only two of us, plus two bathrooms. Everything was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The resort is located in a large forest, so the moment you step inside, you can smell the gentle scent of pine wood everywhere. The atmosphere feels grounding and refreshing—as if the Earth itself is recharging you. One of the best parts is that they have dedicated areas for pets. I got to play with some of the guests’ pets, and it was honestly such a sweet experience. Breakfast was delicious every morning, in a very authentic Japanese style. I went down for breakfast every day, and the dining area has a beautiful view of Mount Fuji—I even recorded some stunning videos there. I never imagined I would be able to book a resort this amazing. It seems like it has been operating for many years, with a rustic and warm charm that I absolutely fell in love with. Down at the reception area, they also sell all kinds of Mount Fuji souvenirs. When you’re out sightseeing in the Fuji area, you tend to buy a lot of souvenirs and snacks, which makes your bags very heavy—but the resort sells everything right there. I compared the prices, and they were actually much cheaper than the tourist spots, so we bought all our gifts there. Super convenient! I genuinely want to come back to this resort for future trips. It is one of the best places I have ever stayed, and I absolutely adore it. Highly, highly recommended.

I plan to stay two nights near Mount Fuji. I filtered accommodations by positive reviews and found this newly opened lodge. Almost all reviews were good, with not a single negative comment, and when I saw it was run by a Chinese owner, I booked it immediately. The location is super convenient, just a three to five-minute walk from the station. The entire lodge is brand new and spotless, with lots of Chinese calligraphy hanging inside, which made it feel very welcoming. The dining area is quite spacious, equipped with an ice maker, microwave, and instant noodles for purchase. A 7-Eleven is about a ten-minute walk away. The scenery is incredible. I just checked in tonight and I'm really looking forward to seeing Mount Fuji's snowscape tomorrow morning. I'll share photos then. The lighting design throughout the lodge is also very thoughtful, creating a great ambiance. The owner is from Zhejiang, and he's incredibly reliable. When traveling abroad, it's common to lose signal on your phone, so you can only communicate via messages. The owner's replies were quick and his information was accurate, which is truly rare when staying away from home. The room is very spacious and immaculately clean, and the furniture like tables and chairs is still new. But I have to emphasize this! In all my time in Japan, this is the first time I've encountered such a spacious bathroom; I absolutely love it! The kettle, and all bathroom amenities are fully provided, making for a comfortable stay. The lodge also offers vehicle rentals: electric scooters and electric bikes for 2000 yen a day, and regular bicycles for 1000 yen a day, which is excellent value for money! Most outside rentals require scanning QR codes for registration, which is a complicated process and hard to manage. Here, you can rent directly at the front desk, which saves so much hassle. This is a huge plus! This was a self-funded stay, with no cooperation or advertising fees; these are my genuine, heartfelt feelings. If you're a Chinese friend reading this, please give it a like! By the way, my initial thoughts for this review were quite scattered, but I used Doubao (AI) to help organize the sentence structure and logic. All the content is based on my own real experiences. The owner even gave me a gift when I left; I was so happy!

The room is a comfortable size and offers a lovely view of Mount Fuji from the corner. It is clean and well equipped, with individual air-conditioning in the room. All the staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The hotel also has onsen facilities, including separate male and female as well as private onsen. Parking is available, located a short distance from the hotel.

When I booked, I double-checked with the hotel to confirm that the room would have a window directly facing Lake Kawaguchiko, as well as another window with a view of Mount Fuji. However, upon entering the room, I found there was only one window, and I had to crane my neck to catch a glimpse of Lake Kawaguchiko. The room next door (X11) clearly had one window directly facing the lake and another with a Mount Fuji view. Why weren't we given that room? We booked in early to mid-May, and we even arrived at the hotel before 4 PM on the day of check-in. On top of that, the bathroom in our room was ridiculously small; even an average-sized woman, let alone a man, would struggle to close the door once inside 😂. This was also my first time staying at a Japanese onsen hotel where almost 80% of the staff were non-Japanese, which probably explains why most of the guests were Westerners 🤣. And it was also my first time at an onsen hotel where there were absolutely no skincare products in the onsen area. Were they perhaps so afraid of 'foreigners' misusing them that they stopped providing them altogether?? 🥹

Excellent hotel with a view of Lake Kawaguchiko. The room is quite spacious, and the staff is very welcoming. The hotel has an onsen, which is essentially a sauna and a hot spring pool, perfect for relaxing after a day of cycling. We booked a room with breakfast and dinner included, both served buffet style. For those not used to eating fish, rice, and other Japanese cuisine in the morning, there are also European croissants, jams, and coffee available. For dinner, the buffet features unlimited crab, but you'll have to contend with the Japanese guests for the crab claws – it seemed to me they choose this hotel specifically for that reason! The cable car is just 30 meters from the hotel, which will take you up a small mountain with a great view of Mount Fuji. It's also quite close to the bus station, about a 10-12 minute walk.

For some reason I was not sent a QR Code to my email to check in. I was sent a pin number which was not necessary or utilized. We arrived at the villa several hours early and called to see if we could check in early, they apparently have a strict after 3pm check-in. We found a place and paid to store our luggage and then came back to the villa at 3pm. Again, still had not received the QR Code. Called again, was hung up on. Called back, was told it would take 10 minutes. Called back and was asked for my email, was put on hold then was asked for my email again (which was already provided at booking). Then was asked to send them an email, they didn't get it and then was asked to send to personal icloud email. They finally found my email and sent the QR Code to me at close to 4pm which was an hour after check-in and we had to stand out in the sun the entire time. This was so frustrating and ridiculous. My email address was in the reservation, why it took so long is crazy. The process needs to be updated so this doesn't happen to other people. There was a huge spider above the TV in the corner, we got rid of it but it was creepy. The view from the villa was great! The beds were nice! Loved the double showers! The body sponges are so clever and left our skin feeling smoothe! The clothes drying was very innovative and did work effectively, needed to turn the heater on twice to get the clothes dry. Towel rack on the wall was broken on the right side, the rod wouldn't stay in. The one pot in the kitchen was burnt on the bottom inside, we tried to clean it to use it but could not. We did use the grill to make dinner and it was a wonderful touch!
