🇮🇸 Golden Circle Self-Drive 🚗💨 The Perfect Iceland Day Trip
“One of Iceland’s best day trips — and even better when you drive it yourself!”@Stormurinn · 2 months ago
Exploring Blaskogabyggd’s Golden Circle is an absolute game-changer for epic natural vibes 🌄🌲. November in Iceland means misty mornings, less crowds, and a landscape that looks straight-up magical (bring a camera!). Top spots you gotta hit: Strokkur Geyser (8M7X+3PJ, Hafnartún, 806 Selfoss) erupts every few minutes — so have your phone ready for that steamy blast! Geysir Hot Springs (333, 806) bubbles nonstop and creates surreal colors in the earth, perfect for sunrise shots. Haukadalur Geothermal Area (Geysir Walking Trail, 806) is a whole showcase of boiling pools and rolling steam clouds. The main Geysir (806) isn’t as frequent, but when it erupts it’s legendary. Don’t skip the Golden Circle route itself for endless outdoor scenery and insane sunrise/sunset moments — think wildflowers, rivers, and shifting light.
Practical tip: layers are a must in November; the weather flips in minutes from sunny to chilly. The Geysir Centre nearby is a solid pit stop for bathrooms and hot drinks — super useful after hiking around wet grasslands. All these locations are open year-round, all day, so timing is flexible. Getting around is easiest with a rental car (roads are good, just keep an eye out for early winter conditions).
For food: the Geysir Centre café has Icelandic soups and bread worth trying, especially on cold days. No tickets needed for these natural attractions — just respect the signs and stick to paths to protect delicate areas.
