Went to the bone like salt flats yesterday,
Well, tropical storm Rachel has made the dry lake bed back into a lake, see third picture.
But still, can say I’ve been, as it’s not really on any direct touristy route

Western USA Travel - Salt Flats in Utah
“Salt Flats I visited during my trip to the western United States
The endless desert like a white sand beach
It was spectacular
Would it be similar if I went to the Uyuni Desert?”@E29***81 · 2 years ago
The Utah tree is something to see, in the middle of miles n miles of nothing but salt. If you ever get to go to Salt Lake make sure you also stop in n check out Park City a very eclectic city, don't forget to take a run on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Dreamlike Landscapes at Bonneville Salt Flats ✨🏜️
Get ready for surreal white vistas stretching to infinity at the Bonneville Salt Flats—Utah’s legendary patchwork of salt, perfect for adventure seekers, photographers, and those chasing unique desert vibes.
The best route is to drive straight from Tooele County, with easy highway access (about 90 minutes west). Arrive early in the morning or late afternoon for softer, golden light and cooler temperatures—the salt shimmers beautifully at these hours. Must-do activities include strolling right out onto the flats, trying out your creative perspective shots (those “tiny human in giant landscape” photos are a must!), and watching the horizon literally dissolve. If visiting after rainfall, you’ll catch a mirror effect as the water creates a stunning reflected sky—always a crowd pleaser.
Insta-worthy angles: For killer photos, shoot low for vast reflections or face west at sunset for fiery skies. Wide shots with silhouettes pop here, as do playful scale illusions—bring props for creative shots!
Practical tips: There’s no shade, water, or restrooms—bring bottled water, sunblock, a hat, and snacks. Stay on the designated flats; off-road driving is strictly regulated outside event times. Cell service can be spotty; download directions in advance.
Key precautions: Check weather and rainfall updates—heavy rains can make sections inaccessible and muddy. The salt is tough but can corrode vehicles; rinse your car after your visit.
For a seamless trip, pack plenty of water, check your car’s tires, and bring a fully charged camera. Layer up if visiting at dawn or dusk—it gets chilly fast!
