We visited the Harrison Tulip Festival during the second week of April 2026, coming from Vancouver, and it turned out to be a calm and pleasant experience, especially if you’re traveling with family.
At this time of the season, the tulips were just about to fully bloom. We did see some beautiful patches already in bloom, particularly in the farther areas, but a large portion of the fields were still in the early stages. You can already imagine how stunning it will be in the coming weeks once everything opens up. Even so, the mix of colors starting to show was still worth the visit.
One thing to note though: they are quite strict about staying off the flower beds. Staff are visible around the area constantly reminding visitors, which is understandable to preserve the tulips, but it does make the experience feel a bit more controlled. You can still take photos, of course, but you have to be mindful of the designated paths at all times.
Compared to our previous visit to Lakeland Tulip Festival in Abbotsford last year, the difference is noticeable. Lakeland is much bigger, with a wider spread of tulip fields, and it felt more relaxed when it comes to taking photos, as long as you don’t step on the flower beds, you’re free to explore and take your time. Harrison, on the other hand, feels more curated and guided.
Overall, the Harrison Tulip Festival is a lovely place to visit, especially for families who prefer an easier, more structured experience. If you’re aiming for full blooms and maximum color, it’s best to come a bit later in the season.
