It is located in the square where the tomb of the White Tiger Corps is located on the top of Mt. Iimori. It was donated by the Italian government, which was impressed by the spirit of the White Tiger Corps. I received the donation about 100 years ago, so by that time it would have been a virtue to die for my Lord. In modern times, I would rather interpret it as a monument to reaffirm the preciousness of life.
I came here when I went to Aizuwakamatsu City because I wanted to experience the history of Aizu. I think it's a magnificent monument.
