Puhartu Marine Reserve is the largest little blue penguin sanctuary on New Zealand's main island. As the world's smallest penguin species, the little blue penguin is only 25-33 cm tall and weighs about 1kg. The little blue penguins here are more colorful than other areas due to geographical reasons, similar to the animal species of Pandora. We are led by guides, wearing camouflage clothes, carrying telescopes, and waiting quietly for the penguins to return to their nests. Near dusk, several groups of penguins appeared on the sea, frolicking on the water and slowly swimming back to the shore. There is also a yellow-eyed penguin hiding in the grass, as an endangered species in New Zealand, it is a rare visitor here, and the guide introduces us to its origin with patience and excitement, and looks at the stunning scene in front of us.
