Walk along the banks of the Hugh River and soon reach Anastasia's landmark, the Island Palace, which was once used as a prison and is now a local history museum. This is definitely the most photogenic prison in the world, the most iconic monument in Annecy, with the city's small streets, running water, flowers and tourists forming the strong tourist landscape of Annecy's old town.
It is said that this place used to be an ancient prison, the whole building is a ship-shaped design, built on the water such a way of construction is a bit of a Jiangnan River house feeling! I saw a lot of old European prison doors, prison keys, old soup pots, and I saw a lot of movies and TVs here as a child. Super fun!
