Stone Bridge

Stone Bridge is a natural rock arch near Arnarstapi on the Snæfellsnes peninsula in Iceland, formed by the erosion of coastal basalt by waves and wind over many years. It is structurally intact and can be walked through freely. Together with the nearby Gatklettur (stone arch), it is an iconic landform on the Snæfellsnes peninsula coastal trail. The two natural arches are located close to each other and collectively showcase the diverse forms of volcanic rock erosion along the Icelandic coastline. Seabirds nest on the cliffs surrounding the arch, and the rugged rocky landscape, combined with the constant sound of crashing waves, makes this one of the representative spots to experience the wild atmosphere of the Snæfellsnes peninsula.
