Kamuikotan

In Ainu, it means a place for the gods to stay. It is selected as the eight scenes of Asahikawa, and the landscape created by the suspension bridges and canyons erected on the Ishikari River Rapids, giving the four seasons a mysterious beauty. Famous for the red leaves, the autumn scenery is even more vivid and gorgeous. Trees, rivers and bridges depict ingenious and excellent contrasts. It is a legacy site of many Ainu legends, and there are strange rocks and pits. You can also see the remains of pit dwellings and boulders, etc., very good.

神居古潭位於上川盆地和石狩川進入石狩平原處的峽谷，這一帶石狩川河岸怪石林立，延綿約10km，是旭川的一處著名風景地。附近有石狩川的激流衝出的「神居古潭凹穴群」和「神居古潭豎穴住居跡」、「舊神居古潭站舎」以及SL機関車（蒸汽機車）的景點。神居古潭還是旭川的著名紅葉景點，每到秋季滿山遍野的紅葉染紅溪谷，堪稱絕景。
