Good pit stop
Chances upon this on our drive down towards Nakafurano and decided to take a detour to check out the Dai Kannon of Kita no Miyako park which houses the super tall statue of guanyin. Seeing guanyin in ...
Ashibetsu City's Star Plaza Roadside Station (Michi-no-Eki)
This is the city of Ashibetsu’s “Michi-no-Eki” or the Roadside Station at the intersection of National Highways 38 and 452 by the Sorachi River. Besides its main building, there is a separate buildin...
A roadside station located between Furano and Takigawa along National Highway No. 38. The station opened on April 22, 1993 as one of the 103 places first registered as the first roadside station. Pizzas and ice cream are sold in the center of the two-story building "Ashibetsu City Tourism Product Center" (this building seems to have opened in 1992), and when I came about a year ago, I definitely bought ice cream. It is a roadside station along National Highway 38, with a souvenir shop on the 1 floor and a restaurant on the 2 floor. I wanted to eat the gatatan ramen I ate before because it was delicious, but I stopped by 8 because it was the old Bon Festival time of the moon, the restaurant was very crowded and gave up. The direct production market on the premises was lined with abundant crops, which were fresh and relatively cheap. You can see the five-storied pagoda and Kannon from the back of the roadside station.

Gatatan Ramen
The restaurant on the 2nd floor offers local gourmet gatatan ramen, and souvenirs were also sold at the shop on the 1st floor.
