Futile suicidal stand of the rajasThis is a quite impressive public square, it commemorates the heroic but suicidal stand of the rajas of Badung against the invading Dutch in 1906. A monument depicts a Balinese family in heroic pose, brandishing the weapons that were so ineffective against the Dutch guns. The gardens are very attractive with floral beds, shrubbery, impressive trees, fountains, monuments and walkways throughout. Although there were many people in attendance on the day, including numerous high school students, an air of reverence pervaded the area. Worth negotiating with a good guide for a reasonably detailed history of the place and the genocidal practices of the Dutch during early settlement.

The square is in the center of this area, including monuments and some museums and attractions around the square. There are also sculptures on the square to see. The iconic building is the monument.
Second, the religious culture of Bali is fascinating. Indonesia is basically Muslim, only Bali is Hindu. When the Dutch invaded in the late 19th century, the local aristocracy in Bali took the people to collectively surrender themselves to the invaders in Puputan Square, shaking Europe, forcing the colonists to rule Huairou, and continuing the Hindu civilization in Bali. So the island is full of Hindu statues, reliefs, patterns, also known as the "Island of God".
This square is actually not big, it should be considered a standard, there are quite a lot of locals who also like to come, here also encountered several wedding photos, we came to visit the monument when we came.
This square is right here at the monument. The monument is in the middle of the square. Here you will see many local newcomers coming to take pictures. It has become a local photo resort, and the landscape is very ordinary.
