Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras

The terraced fields are located in the east of the Cordillera Mountains in Luzon Island, just 2 kilometers from the town of Banaue, which is the largest man-made irrigation system in the world. These breathtaking terraces were cultivated 200 years ago on solid rock by local tribes, including the Ilo, using primitive tools and sophisticated irrigation systems.
