Guyaju is located in the quiet canyon of Dongmenying Village, Zhangshanying Township, 15 kilometers west of Yanqing County, Beijing, Donglian Songshan Nature Reserve, Guanting Reservoir in the south. The ancient cliff dwelling is the largest cliff dwelling site found in northern China, known as the "first maze of China", which was chiselled by ancient ancestors on steep cliffs with a total of 117 caves. It is the largest and highest grade ancient cave settlement site found in Beijing.
