＂ Wanping City ＂ is located in the east of Lugou Bridge, Fengtai District, Beijing. During the Chongxu period at the end of Ming Dynasty, in order to prevent Li Zicheng's peasant army from attacking the Beijing Division, the Ming Dynasty built this city in 1638 ～ in 1640. Chengyi lived on the east bank of Yongding River, facing Lugou Bridge, and strangled the throat of Beijing. Wanping City was used as a Acropolis. Only two city gates are set up, namely: ＂ Shunzhimen ＂ in the east and ＂ Yongchangmen (Qing Dynasty changed to: Majestic Gate) ＂. ＂ Lugou Bridge ＂ was built in the Jin Dynasty (1189 ～ 1192 AD), the initial name ＂ Guangli Bridge ＂, and later renamed: Lugou Bridge. On July 7, 1937, the Japanese invaders provoked trouble to shell Wanping City, and the 777 Incident broke out. The 777 Incident＂ opened the curtain of the comprehensive War of Resistance Against Japan. In 1987, the Memorial Hall of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japan was built and opened in Wanping City. This is the only large-scale comprehensive special memorial hall in China that fully reflects the history of the great Chinese people's war against Japan.
