The floating tower
Belém Tower was first built to defend Lisbon. Years later, it was transformed into a lighthouse and then a tourist attraction.
Inside Belém Tower, the ground floor of this architectural jewel has 16 windows with cannons. The visit also includes a tour of the pits and holes where the prisoners were thrown into, with other five floors to discover.
During my visit to Belem, we took the train from Lisbon Port. I suggest going there just before the sunset, because the view is magnificent, you can see from the photos. I did not go inside the tower, but if you are a historic adic, I suggest going in.

Nice place to visit. good view, must try fresh pineapple juice. and try also try Portuguese pastel de nata.. taste good
The first stop in Lisbon, head to the famous Bellen Tower, a landmark in Lisbon that looks like a fine piece of jade, from the bottom to the top of the tower, and you can see the beautiful scenery of the River Tejo. It witness the glory of Lisbon in the past. The first floor also houses the cannon and fort of the year. This tower looks average at first glance, but it belongs to the kind that the more you see, the more you love.
Very historical
The photos taken when the weather is good are very good. The landmark ancient buildings will be limited in batches and the management is very orderly.
as a native Portuguese I can tell you it’s a must visit in Portugal!! not only the tower of Belem is a gorgeous tourist attraction to take pictures the are around has a beautiful garden as well as other tourist attractions like the mosteiro dos geronimos and the best custard tarts in the world.
Portugal, located in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula in Europe, northeast of Spain, southwest of the Atlantic Ocean. During the 1st century, it was a world maritime power, and there were many colonies along the Atlantic and Indian Oceans of South America, Asia, Africa. Lisbon, the capital of the Portuguese Republic, is located in western Portugal and is the westernmost city in continental Europe. Berenta, a world cultural heritage site, is located in the mouth of the north bank of the special river in Lisbon city, with its unique architectural style and special geographical location, becoming the most photogenic landmark in Lisbon. During the year, to strengthen the defense of the port area of Beren and commemorate the arrival of Da Gamma in India in 1498, Manuel I ordered the construction of Beren Tower. As time passed, Berenta gradually lost its defensive function, and was used as a customs, telegraph station, lighthouse, prison... witnessing the once glorious and historical vicissitudes of Lisbon and Portugal. Today, it has become a famous tourist attraction. Through the green grassy Belen Garden, the clear Teyu River rushes west, and the 5-story L-shaped marble building-Belen Tower sits on the riverside. The dignified shape and white posture are like elegant nobles and elegant; the open view and the strong fort are faintly visible in the past; Surrounded by stone ropes, exquisite stone carvings, Moore + Arabic art style is beautiful... Tips: in the gardens around the Bellen Tower, there are some World War II-era weapons, but also have a special charm.
