The square was originally called Lenin Square, but since 1991 it has been renamed Alatu Square. Every day at dusk, the square will hold a flag-down ceremony. The square is very large and majestic.
The Arata Plaza in the center of Bishkek is one of the city's main attractions, and every year, major national and ethnic festivals such as Independence Day are held here. On the north side of the square is the National History Museum of Jiji and on the west side is the Kyrgyz Parliament Building. The National Concert Hall, located on the northwest side of Chu River and Manas Avenue, is in the center of another important complex in Bishkek. The grand former Soviet building opposite the National Concert Hall is the Bishkek City Hall.

The squares of the national capital are generally large and this one is no exception. But I don't understand why it is not called Bishkek Square. Once Lenin Square, now Alimtu Square is the name of other countries. The square is no small for this country. There are several statues that symbolize what happened.
