Longpingshuidao Museum

The Longping Rice Museum is the first large-scale rice-themed museum in my country and even in the world. It is located in Furong District, Changsha City. The main building area is 11,000 square meters and the exhibition area is nearly 6,000 square meters. It is mainly divided into five different functional areas: display area, storage area, public service area, technical and administrative management space, and commercial facilities of 6,000 square meters.

The museum has planned three exhibitions with rice as the theme, namely "Rice Fragrance for Ten Thousand Years - China's Rice History and Culture Exhibition", "Dreams Come True - Yuan Longping and Hybrid Rice Exhibition" and "A Strange Journey - Rice Life Exhibition". The exhibition content covers the entire rice-growing area and rice-growing relics. The three exhibitions focus on the past, present and future of rice, and complement each other, jointly opening a magnificent picture of the birth, development and influence of rice to the audience. The audience can not only learn about the long history of rice-growing culture of the Chinese nation, but also feel the ever-changing development trend of rice technology, and learn about the patriotic, dedicated and unremitting spirit of scientific researchers represented by Yuan Longping.
