Blackrock Castle Observatory

This is the planetarium built by the city government and Cork Polytechnic, with some multimedia interactive screens to give students science knowledge. The castle itself was originally used as a marine defense project in Cork, and it has been renovated and has been changed many times. After leaving the castle, there is a walk/bike lane along the river that leads all the way to downtown Cork, which is good for exercise.

Built in the 16th century, it was used for the defense of Cork City, to look out for pirates. The castle is now rebuilt after being destroyed and owned by the government. Driving by, not looking in. In Europe, there are many such castles in Ireland.
