Wenxian Pavilion

Outside the south gate of Dali Ancient City is the Document Building, known as the first gate of the ancient city, and is an iconic building of Dali Ancient City. It was built during the Qing Kangxi period. The building is hung in the "Document Famous State" titled by the Yunnan Governor in Kangxi for 40 years (1701 AD), so it is called the Document Building. The Document Building spans the passageway to the ancient city of Dali in the south, and the road is shaded by willows and glazed, quite poetic and picturesque, and is the gateway to the official government to welcome the officials and dignitaries. The Document Building is a two-story Xishan-style earth-rock structure of the tower, with typical Bai architectural characteristics, it stands on the masonry structure door, majestic and magnificent.

The Document Building was built during the Qing Kangxi period. Dali's famous plaque "Document Famous State" was originally hung in the Document Building. Unfortunately, this building was destroyed during the Anti-Japanese War, and the current building was later rebuilt. Worth a look.
