Wuhua Building

In the center of the ancient city of Dali, there is the tallest ancient building in the ancient city, called Wuhua Building. This kind of commanding height in the center of the city seems to be a very good climbing attraction. Wuhua Building is free during the day. You can climb the building and look around the ancient city of Dali. It has a very beautiful view and is a very good place to visit.

I living close to that built, and have chance to see at any time, morning, afternoon, evening. It always look wondering.

Wuhua Building was the first state guesthouse of Nanyu Wang. In the early Ming Dynasty, Wuhua Building was burned down in the war. During the Ming and Hongwu years, when the ancient city of Dali was rebuilt, the Bell and Drum Tower was repaired on the former site of Wuhua Building. When rebuilding Wuhua Building, because of the difficulty of finding the giant tree pillar, the smaller the building, which is incomparable to the Nanxun period. The rebuilt Wuhua Building is the highest point of the ancient city and has become one of the iconic buildings in the ancient city of Dali.

大理古城当然很有历史，所以历史的建筑也挺不少的。这栋楼应该算是比较有历史的地方，经过维护目前总体还不错，尤其夜色中显得比较的飘，登高还是不错的。

五华楼始建于南诏劝丰佑时期，据史书记载，五华楼“方五里，高百尺，上可容万人，下可建五丈旗”，是南诏王宴请西南夷十六国君长及其他国宾的地方，可谓是当时的国宾馆。元世祖忽必烈征大理时，曾经驻兵楼前，后多次拨款维修五华楼。明初毁于战火，明洪武年间，在易址重修大理古城时，将城中的钟鼓楼改称五华楼，但其规模格局已远远不如南诏时期的五华楼。现存的五华楼是1999年大理州政府拨款修复的，现在的五华楼主体建筑高20多米，一台三楼。登上五华楼苍洱风光尽收眼底，城内青瓦披面的白族民居、东南西北雄伟的四门城楼也一览无余，五华楼俨然成为大理古城内的制高点，是观赏古城全貌首选之地。
