based on 185 reviewsTitan RT is a striking pedestrian suspension bridge spanning the Rappbode Reservoir and connecting Oberharz am Brocken and Thale. Since opening in 2017, it has become one of the longer pedestrian suspension bridges in Germany, attracting many visitors. This sophisticated cable structure was completed in the spring of 2017, with a massive tensile force of 947 tons, firmly anchored into the slate on both sides of the valley. Four main cables, each 65 mm in diameter, form the backbone of this 120-ton bridge. In addition, two stabilizing cables keep the bridge stable in strong winds. The 120 cm wide walkway (grating) features 130 cm high railings along its entire length, with stainless steel mesh on both sides. The bridge deck uses steel grating, with a sophisticated design that ensures structural stability while providing expansive views.
Below the bridge lies the magnificent Rappbode Reservoir, where visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding forests and water while walking. In addition, there are thrilling activities below the bridge, such as the Gigaswing (pendulum jump) and Megazipline (double zipline), for adventure-seeking visitors.
