Archaeological Park of Herculaneum

The ancient city of Herculaneum is 8 kilometers southeast of Naples, Italy. In 79 AD, the eruption of Vesuvius, Herculaneum and the ancient city of Pompeii, not far away, were flooded by ash. The ancient city was discovered in the early 18th century, and archaeological excavations have been carried out. Excavation and clean-up work has been carried out so far, and a large number of sites and monuments are buried deep underground. Because of the deep ash buried, the buildings in the city, including public facilities, streets, sculptures, squares, bathrooms, houses, etc., remain in original state, even the murals and mosaic floors in the house are preserved intact, and the colors are still beautiful.
