    Interesting insight into the d'Este rulers tombs

    You need to know a little history to appreciate this, but very worthwhile. This convent was patronized by the d'Este Duchesses. Interesting for women's history.

    The tombs of the Dukes of Ferrara

    A number of members of the d'Este family are buried here. Interesting is the tomb of Lucrezia Borgio, whose bum rap by history seems to be undeserved.

    For Borgia fans!

    You have to knock on the door and hope that the monastery's caretaker will let you in. We had no trouble and he let us take our time to visit.......it .helps if you speak some Italian as I do not thin...
