Maizuru Park

Maizuru Park is located about a 15-minute walk from Tenjin, the center of Fukuoka City in Japan. It is a park built on the former site of Fukuoka Castle, which was constructed by the feudal lord Kuroda Nagamasa, who ruled over 520,000 koku in Chikuzen. The park is symbolized by the ruins of Fukuoka Castle. The natural scenery of the park is very beautiful, and it is also a famous spot in Japan for cherry blossom viewing. Every spring, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, many visitors come here to enjoy them. In addition to cherry blossoms, there are also peonies, azaleas, plum blossoms, camellias, and other flowers that bloom in different seasons, making it a beautiful place at any time of the year.

Maizuru Park, located only a short 20-minute walk from Ohori Koen Subway Station in Fukuoka City, was built around the ruins of Fukuoka Castle. The castle was the former base of an influential political leader until the Meiji Era and was later occupied by the American army during World War II, making this a crucial spot in Japanese history. Fukuoka Castle's most notable feature is its wide stone walls. The best time to visit the park is during the spring when a thousand cherry trees are in full bloom. I’m lucky and the cherry tree just started blooming in late March. It’s a nice walk and close to the city centre. Perfect walk before lunch.

Wandering between the stone walls, one can almost hear the neighing of warhorses, the pledges of samurai, and the echoes of history gently reverberating in every corner. 🌸 The Romantic Moments of Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom 📷 Each cherry blossom tree proclaims the arrival of spring with its blooms, and the delicate petals are particularly dazzling against the azure sky. When taking photos, I particularly enjoy capturing the harmonious coexistence of flowers and people, like in this picture, sitting quietly by the lake, enjoying a moment of peace. 🌤️ The Spring Light and Shadows of Fukuoka 🌿 Sitting on a bench in the park, the view before me is refreshing to the soul. Model boats float on the lake, and as the breeze blows, ripples dance across the water, while the graceful koi fish swim leisurely in the clear water, bringing a unique tranquility to Fukuoka. 🤸 The Vibrant Park Life 🚶‍♂️ Maizuru Park is not only a great place for flower viewing but also a spot for locals to exercise and relax. One can almost feel the vitality of the runners, who sweat along the lengthy cherry blossom path, leaving behind the footprints of their youth. 🌼 Encountering the Confession of Spring 💖 Under the cherry trees full of spring, I look up at the pink sea of flowers, and my heart can't help but surge with love for this season. A gust of spring wind brings falling petals, like nature's tender confession to the city. Maizuru Park, a treasure filled with history and nature, whether it's the cherry blossoms illuminated by the spring light or the Fukuoka Castle in the river of history, inspires respect.
