Dinglin Temple

Located 5 kilometers southeast of Gaoping City, Daliang Mountain boasts overlapping peaks and lush green pines and cypresses. The temple's name is derived from the Dinglin Spring, situated on the side of the mountain. Located on the sunny side of the mountain, the temple's beauty complements the beauty of the temple. The temple's central axis comprises four courtyards: the Mountain Gate, the Leiyin Hall, the Three Buddha Hall, and the Seven Buddha Hall. The Leiyin Hall boasts bracketed eaves, overhanging eaves, carved beams, and painted rafters, creating an exquisitely elegant and ancient grandeur. The back doorstone is inscribed with the words "Diary of April 20th, the Fourth Year of the Yuan Dynasty's Yanyou Period." Two octagonal stone pagodas, each four meters high, stand on the platform in front of the hall. These pagodas are engraved with Buddhist scriptures, upturned lotuses, covered basins, and pearl crowns. One is the Maitreya Birth Pagoda, built in the second year of the Taiping Xingguo reign of the Northern Song Dynasty (977); the other in the second year of the Yongzhao reign (985). Later, the Zhijuan and Wenjin Caves were constructed within the Shanfa and Luohan Halls. To the west of the hall lies Dinglin Spring, whose clear, sweet water flows from a stone cave, never drying up year-round. Steep stone steps lead up from the second hall to a charming courtyard, with a Buddhist temple to the north and a pavilion to the west. Two pavilions stand tall in the courtyard. From this vantage point, the breathtaking beauty of the mountains, rivers, and pavilions is unparalleled.
