The Castle was located by the river bank of Kuma river. It was the home of Sagara clan for about 700 years. Needed to walk uphill to reach the castle ruins, in fact, only the remains of walls were...
A castle ruin where you can appreciate a well-preserved stone wall. Although it is small, I think it is worth seeing the Mizunotemon gate and the Otemon gate ruins. Also, you can see the cityscape of Hitoyoshi from the Ninomaru ruins of Hiro 々. There were some places where some repairs were being carried out, but I would like many people to appreciate this wonderful castle ruins.
From the site of Ninomaru and Sannomaru, Hitoyoshi city was able to be seen

From the parking lot of Hitoyoshi Castle, crossing the bridge over the moat, there was Sagara Gokoku Shrine. This Sagara Gokoku Shrine is a shrine enshrined in Hitoyoshi Castle. Therefore, I walked through the precincts and walked through the castle with long stone walls. This Hitoyoshi Castle is one of the 100 famous castles in Japan, which was the center of the Sagara family for about 700 years from the Kamakura period to the end of the Edo period. The Kuma River and the Koshikawa River are created as natural moats. There are no buildings such as the castle tower, but ... in the castle.
