Vatnajokull National Park
Vatnajokull National Park is the largest national park in Iceland, established in 2008, with a total area of about 14,000 square kilometers. It is located in southeastern Iceland and includes the Vatnajokull glacier and surrounding mountains, volcanoes, lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and other natural landscapes. Vatnajokull is one of the largest ice caps in Europe, covering more than a third of Iceland. There are also many other natural landscapes in the park, such as Dettifoss, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, Jokulsarlon glacier lake, Grindavik volcano, etc., it is a spectacular place. As a national park, the main purpose of Vatnajokull National Park is to protect and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the area, while providing opportunities for visitors to engage in outdoor activities and natural exploration. The park offers many activities such as hiking, glacier climbing, skiing, rock climbing, etc., allowing visitors to experience these beautiful landscapes up close.
The "Glacier Lake" lake is connected to the glacier, and the flow rate and flow are very large. The place connecting the lake is the famous "Diamond Beach" glacier that will fall on the ice, and then will be washed by the wolf to the shore, and the broken ice washed to the beach will shine from a distance towards the sun. Just like diamonds spilled on the ground, Gumei is called Diamond Beach. But because it is spring, (too warm 😅), there is no diamond ice on the beach mentioned in the travel book.
This is the most worth visiting place in Iceland, the scenery is a mess. The ice here is flowing, different every day, and when you are lucky, you can see very spectacular ice. It is certainly better to take a boat into the lake, but there is a certain risk.
The glacier lake is located in the east of Iceland. The lake is frozen for many years. The most important rule is to go out by boat. The lake is very large, the surrounding scenery is also very good, and the landscape is quite good.
A blue, calm and ice-filled, mysterious glacier lake is one of the most famous tourist attractions in southern Iceland. Arrange a ride on the glacier lake in a dual-use car to enjoy the glacier's spectacular views up close
Although the ice lake is open all year round, the trip will be cancelled in bad weather because it is said that this happened the next day of our tour... How lucky we are! The beautiful lakes filled with crystal clear ice, the ice lake itself is probably a few hundred meters deep, and the ice you see floating on the lake is just the tip of the real iceberg, where 90% of the iceberg is hidden under cold water. But the beauty of the glaciers at Jegu Salon is a costly and intuitive consequence of current global warming. Sometimes icebergs turn big because they break or melt, causing the underwater parts of the iceberg to be smaller than the surface. We witnessed the ice floe in the picture below instantly reverse and break... magically!
It was cold in winter, but the scenery was really beautiful.
Snow mountains, glaciers, glaciers and lakes. Too beautiful, too magnificent, too unreal! ! Intoxicating blue ice, I took a land boat tour and ate thousands of years of ice. Unfortunately, I didn’t go to the GoT Great Wall to take pictures... Because we are too late... The more shocking scenery can’t be done this time. Friendly reminder, please get up at 6 o’clock in the morning to catch up and have a good glacier walk.
