This lighthouse is also a museum. After a climb one reaches the lighthouse which is situated on a cape. As it is a museum one has to pay an entrance fee. The view from the top is worthwhile the climb.

It is a chalk lighthouse standing on a cliff 73m above sea level on the Usuiso coast. It was opened in 1899 and is one of the only 16 "climbing lighthouses" nationwide. This lighthouse became famous for the lyrics "Cape of Shioya" of the late Hibari Misora's masterpiece "Midare Hair". From the relationship, I was asked, "Do you know the cape of Hibari Shioya?" A monument of "Midare Hair" is erected in the square at the entrance of the lighthouse, and the song of Miss Hibari is playing.

The day I visited was fine, so I enjoyed the best view of ３６０ degrees. You can see the horizon quite far from the top of the lighthouse. I visited during the sunny winter. I had lunch at Onahama and moved to the lighthouse in Shioyazaki and drove according to the instructions of the car navigation system, but I missed the intersection to turn right and detoured, but I managed to arrive.
