Dayun Temple • Wangmu Palace

Dayun Temple and Queen Mother Palace is a national 4A-level Attraction, located 1 km northwest of Jingchuan County. It is divided into two Attraction, Queen Mother Palace and Dayun Temple, along National Highway 312. Queen Mother Palace was first built in the second year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty, and was rebuilt twice in the early Song Dynasty and the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. In 1992, the local government and the private sector jointly rebuilt it, and the main buildings such as the West Queen Mother Hall, the East King Gong Hall, and the Ji Hall were successively built. Under Huishan, there is a "Hui House" built at the confluence of the two rivers. It is said that it is the place where the West Queen Mother lives and where the West Queen Mother and the East King Gong meet. The Queen Mother Palace was excavated against the mountain, with a plane in the shape of a "Hui" character, and there are three-story cave eaves outside. The cave is 11 meters high, 12.6 meters wide, and 10 meters deep. There are more than 200 Buddha statues carved around the central column and on three sides of the cave wall, and there are 22 large and small Buddha niches. There is a Buddha statue on the front of the central column, about 4 meters high, made of clay and stone, with a plump body, which is a work of the Tang Dynasty. Each wall of the cave has three layers of statues, more than a hundred of them. It is one of the famous caves on the ancient "Silk Road" in China. There are many steles in the Queen Mother Palace, among which the "Queen Mother Palace Song Stele" is the most famous and is known as a "treasure". Yaochi was built on the southern foot of Huishan Mountain. It is said to be the palace of the Queen Mother of the West, where the Queen Mother of the West held the Peach Banquet and feasted the immortals. The Queen Mother of the West's grand meeting is held on the 20th day of the third lunar month every year. At that time, people from all directions come here to worship, with huge crowds of people and strong incense. There are many Queen Mother Palaces in China, but there are historical materials, inscriptions, ancient relics and folk customs to prove that Jingchuan Queen Mother Palace is the first real palace in the world, and Jingchuan County is therefore known as the "Chinese Queen Mother Cultural City". In February 2001, the Queen Mother Palace was approved by the National Tourism Administration as a national AA-level tourist Attraction.
