Dalongmen Scenic Area

The Dalongmen Attraction in Jinyun County is located deep in Kuacang Mountain, in the upper reaches of the Tangxi River Basin, in the ancient city of Xiaotaoyuan, and at the entrance of the old village of Xijiu, about three or four li away from Tangshisan Village. Here, the mountains are high and the forests are lush, the pits are deep and the water is clear, the rocks are strange, the cliffs are steep and there are many caves. In particular, there is a flying spring that is tens of meters high, which splashes with pearls and jade all year round, making it one of the most wonderful attractions in Xiaotaoyuan. There are more than 200 species of plants in the complex, including bamboo sea, forest sea, coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests, and thousand-year-old trees. The original ecological zone with weak alkaline high-quality water breeds a large number of wild groupers and pit toads. The folk customs are simple, the scenery is beautiful, and the air is fresh and pleasant. The central location is the two parallel canyons at the junction of Jinpan, with a total length of more than 10 kilometers and a water area of ​​more than 100 acres. There are schools of stream fish and pairs of birds on the valleys and mountain pits and streams, which are beautiful. Among them, there are four wonders and four good things. The four wonders are: Kuacang Waterfall, Shimenxia Bare Rock Area, Lime Cave, and the thousand-year-old trees in Xijiu; the four good things are: good water, good fish, good streams, and good air. Jinyun County was built in the first year of Wansui Dengfeng in Wu Zhou (696 AD) and was named after the ancient Jinyun Mountain in the territory. Jinyun is the title of Emperor Xuanyuan, the ancestor of Chinese civilization. Xiandu Dinghu Peak is the place where Huangdi made elixirs and hundreds of gods ascended to heaven. Huangdi Temple is an important place for worshiping Huangdi in southern China, which echoes with Huangling in Shaanxi, forming a pattern of "North Mausoleum and South Temple" to commemorate ancestors. Every year, folk and public sacrifices to Huangdi are held on Qingming Festival and Chongyang Festival respectively. The sacrificial activities adopt the specifications of "禘礼" (ancient high ritual sacrifice) and are carried out in a way that combines tradition and modernity, ritual and music. The ancient city of Xiaotaoyuan is located at the pass of Kuacang Mountain. Outside the pass is the small plain of Huzhen, which is large in area and has a large population. The pass is surrounded by mountains, and inside the pass, there are willows and flowers, and the sound of chickens and dogs can be heard. The ancient city of Xiaotaoyuan was built during the Shaoxi period of the Song Dynasty (1194). The rock was excavated more than ten feet deep, and two inner and outer stone arches were built. The three characters "Xiaotaoyuan" were written on the outer gate. It was rebuilt in the Bingwu year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. The four characters "Deep in Taoyuan" were added to the inner gate. It is said that it was written by a wandering monk. This monk was Emperor Qianlong who was traveling in the south of the Yangtze River. When Emperor Qianlong changed his clothes to visit Xiaotaoyuan, he was amazed and wrote the four characters "Deep in Taoyuan". He donated them to the people and built a cave gate. The ancient city of Xiaotaoyuan is also called "the main gate" and "the main gate cave". There are Chaoran Pavilion and Ruzai Temple beside the ancient city, both of which are old objects from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Dragon culture has a magical origin and connotation in the Dalongmen Farmhouse Complex. At the entrance of the Attraction, the sunny loess slope of Beihong Village is said to be the breeding ground of ancient dinosaurs. When the Kuacan Forest Farm was building the winding mountain road, dinosaur fossils were discovered many times. Therefore, this mountain is called Longshan by the locals.
