It seems that there are no such large burial mounds in the Kyushu region. This Ishizukayama Kofun tumulus is said to be one of the largest in Kyushu with a total length of 130 meters. The important cultural property triangular edge god beast mirror has been excavated, which is worth noting. We recommend visiting the neighboring Hidamachi Historical Museum.

The small mountain next to the town hall in Hida Town was an old burial mound. If I wasn't told, I wouldn't have noticed that this was an old burial mound. A shrine is enshrined above. There is a historical museum in the town next to the parking lot of the government office, but it was only open until 4 pm, and unfortunately I couldn't enter here either.

The largest and oldest front and rear burial mounds in Kyushu are also . Couldn't the town think about how to preserve cultural properties a little more? Other burial mounds in this area were left in a messy feeling, so I had a bad feeling, but even though there is a town history museum next to the town hall in Tomita, there is no evidence of being maintained. A new concrete shrine is built in front. Is the stone seen through the gaps in weeds growing on the surface of the burial mound a fukishi or just a crushed stone? ...
