It was an ordinary and common temple that can only be said to be a pretty good pilgrimage temple. Auspicious is a venerable temple 1200 More than a year. It seems that women were prohibited in the past. It was a temple with a thin impression for its name. The statue of the Ten Great Disciples was more spectacular than the main hall and Daishido. This pilgrimage temple is famous for its outstanding effect "Suri".

A stone monument carved with "Kobo Daishi Mother, a temple related to Tamayori Gozen" stood beside the approach. When I went up the stone steps with the Daishi statue in the foreground, the main hall was placed in front of me, but I got the impression that it was a small hall.

18th Fudasho Onzanji Temple Walk a little from the parking lot to the precincts. There are few visitors and the quiet precincts are neither large nor small, so you can visit slowly. It was a visit in the rain, but it was also nice to have an atmosphere.

I visited No. 18 Onzanji Temple on the first day of my 3 nights and 4 days trip to Shikoku Pilgrimage. Get off the bus in front of Onzanji Temple, which is about 40 minutes by bus from Tokushima Station. If you go up the slope of the roadway, there is a red bridge called Mother Bridge in a few minutes, and beyond that, there is an evergreen tree called Bilange, which is hand-planted by Kobo Daishi, which is eye-catching. Leave the road and go up the high grove pilgrimage road. About 5 minutes on foot, I saw the back of a magnificent Daishi statue. Climb the short stone steps on the right hand of the Daishi statue and you will find the precincts. The training Daishi statue and Daishido on the left hand, a slightly long stone in front ...

If you are reviewed, let's review on the "Onzanji" page unless the site is organized in a single piece. It's useless ... This is a temple with an exceptional story that Kukai called for his mother, governed special training and invited him to the temple, and it is like a sample that Kukai says that anything becomes OK if it takes. The principal image is the Koyasan Shingon sect temple of Yakushi Nyorai.
