National Planetarium is the national planetarium of Malaysia. It is a blue-domed structure that is situated on top of a hill in the Lake Gardens at Jalan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur. It is about 120,000 square feet in area. However currently they closed since 14 Oct 2020 till further notice.
The National Planetarium (Planetarium Negara) is conveniently located in Kuala Lumpur's Lake Gardens, the green lung in the heart of the city.
National Planetarium is the national planetarium of Malaysia located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is a blue domed building located on top of a hill in Taman Tasik on Jalan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur. It covers an area of 120,000 square feet (11,000 m²). The National Planetarium is open every day from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm (except on Mondays, Hari Raya Puasa and Hari Raya Hajj). The planetarium show runs every two hours from the time it opens until the time it closes. Screenings take place at 11am and 3pm. Admission is RM1 for adults, free for children, while RM6 for adults and RM4 for children to watch the movie. Just outside the main planetarium building is the Outdoor Ancient Observatory Park. This is where models of ancient observatories are located. Here you'll find a replica of the famous Stonehenge and get an insight into the Chinese and Indian astronomy systems.
Among the attractions here include, the space exhibit, which is an interactive exhibit that provides a space experience
Admission to this science gallery is free. If you go to the observation deck or observatory there is a 14-inch telescope.
