Waipiʻo Valley Lookout

Time and nature's element have carved an unimaginably massive valley filled with deep green encrusted cliffs cut by plunging waterfalls.

Drive to the famous Waipio Valley, legendary as a treasure where the former king was buried, one of the most beautiful attractions on the Big Island of Hawaii. Arriving in the valley, I saw a lot of cars parked on the side of the road, the sign said that the four-wheel drive can drive down, we did not hesitate, and later found that it was really not a general thrill, there was no turning back, the horseman was good, the baby car skills were more powerful!

The weather is really powerful. When you visit the Huailio Valley, the white clouds are lingering. The valley under the blue sky is more natural and quiet. The waterfalls, cliffs, waves, and plants are so harmoniously integrated, forming the overall scenery of the valley. This piece is not visited by tourists. The natural scenery eroded by the development is too good. The view of the valley from a distance is extremely spectacular. Tourists have taken pictures to remember. This attraction is also a place worth visiting in Hawaii.

Great hike down to see the falls and beach. Be warned it is quite steep so it can be challenging. It's also quite hot and humid so come prepared but the views are amazing!

Make sure you park your car on the street and don’t overlook the parking space. Bring a glass of water and a pair of comfortable shoes for you. The bottom of the road is a cliff, so there will be some wet and a little muddy. But when you walk along the cliff edge, you find it well worth it (but be aware that the road is a bit narrow and sometimes four-wheel drives pass by you) to the black sand beach. You can see waterfalls at the end of both sides (but you can only see one waterfall if you look far). I climbed here for 25 minutes to see the scenery before returning to our car.

It is far from Shilo Airport. The traffic in Shilo is not very convenient. You need to rent a car or participate in group tours. The navigation is easy to find the observation deck. However, the parking lot on the observation deck is very low. It is often not easy to have parking spaces. Many people park on the side of the road. The scenery of the observation deck is beautiful. But there is still a distance from the beach, four-wheel drive can drive directly to the beach, the road is very steep, there is no four-wheel drive, don't drive down. If you go down by yourself, it takes about 30 minutes. Go down to the bottom of the valley and walk about 400 meters to the left to see the waterfall. Then come back to play on the right. This road is dirty and muddy, and you should pay attention to avoiding vehicles. The seaside scenery is beautiful and there are many surfers.
