It’s a fun place to learn Canadian history with kids. If you have a day , staying in Quebec City, the drive from old town is not that far. The u deerhound museum is very nice

History of the Fort
Pay for the tour - it makes it so much more interesting to hear the history for the fort. Tours available in French or English.

Fort is in good shape. Exposition is dated and mostly consist of explanation board. No artefacts. Guided tour was nice. Plan for 1.5 hour max.
