Dashuijing Ancient Architecture Group, seated in the northwest of Lichuan City, is composed of the Li Liangqing Manor, the Li's Ancestral Temple, and the Li Gaiwu Manor. Surrounded by mountains, it boasts breathtaking scenery and is known as the "symphony of Tujia dwellings." All buildings of the Li's manors were all built according to the "Eight Diagrams," with no nails used. You will not wet your feet when entering any room of the manor on rainy days. The Li's Ancestral Temple was built during the reign of Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty. The painted porcelain embossment is very splendid. There is a small well on the east side of the ancestral hall, and there is a high wall around the well. The front of the wall is engraved with the words "Dashuijing (literally the big water well)," which is the origin of the name of Dashuijing.
Other visitors' reviews of Dashuijing
Show More ReviewsIt is full of humanistic atmosphere and was once the manor of a large landowner named Li. The Li family's heritage and some ancient buildings are very interesting. The local people have a high opinion of this family and they are truly great philanthropists. However, many of the original buildings were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution.
