After the Tianjin Treaty was signed, the Qing government was forced to implement a policy of "missionary tolerance". In a letter to the London Missionary Society dated July 30, 1850, Christian missionary Younger Fei said: “This country has in fact fallen into our hands, all the missionary lands in China and the respective domestic missions, if they do not occupy this land, It would be guilty not to gain a permanent foothold in every centre of the eighteen provinces. (Thompson's Younger Fei, p. 82) Before that, Ma Ruhan, son of the famous missionary Malison, had traveled to Anhui River seven times during the Opium War to steal Reporting positive activities. Since 24 years of Qingdao light, the Anglican Church has included Anhui and Jiangsu provinces in its missionary areas, and established a parish of Yu, whose mission is led by the bishop of Jiangsu.
