Museu do Oriente

The Oriental Museum was built in 2008 and is part of the Oriental Foundation. It is located in the Seaside Industrial Building. The exhibits include Chinese porcelain, African tooth carvings, Indonesian textiles, Japanese screens, antique snuff bottles, Asian-made crosses, exotic costumes and various accessories. It is a display of Portuguese multiculturalism and reflects from one side the long history of cultural exchanges between Portugal as a former maritime power and Asian countries.

The Oriental Museum, located in the downtown area of Lisbon, is the center of cultural exchange between Portugal and East and West. The exhibits are representative commodities and historical introductions of trade between the strong Portuguese empire and the East, especially China. The famous exhibits include various porcelain and bronze statues.
