As part of a Rabbies Tour we were on our way to Islay when we stopped at these cairns/standing stones. A brief stop, however it was very interesting learning about these cairns.
In early May we went to see the ancient monuments near Kilmartin. A wooden path takes you across a ditch to the standing stones, then you walk for a fair distance through the meadow and across a count...
Again, part of the walk through the glen includes this barial site. The kids went right in and it gave you an appreciation of the work that went into making these. Well worth the walk around.

SURPRISE STOP ON OUR RABBIES TOUR

The hike is very nice
Walk from site to site and end up at the temple wood. Nice gentle walk. Summer is midge season. You do walk across fields of livestock.
You can actually crawl inside and have a look.
