Lufeng Museum

The Lufeng Museum is located on Jinshan South Road, Lufeng County, Chuxiong Prefecture. The museum has 8 exhibition halls, displaying the world's oldest dinosaur fossils, ancient ape fossils, Ming Dynasty porcelain, and Qing Dynasty bronze Buddha statues. Among them, the fossils of Lufengosaurus Xu and the giant Lufengosaurus are the oldest and well-preserved dinosaur skeleton specimens so far. In the ancient ape hall of the museum, there are fossils of ancient creatures such as the skull fossils of Ramapithecus, the skull fossils of the Shiwa ancient ape, the fossils of the upper and lower jaws of the ancient apes, and the fossils of the ancient ape teeth. The Hall of Paleontology displays the Mesozoic Triassic and later dinosaurs, Ramapithecus, Sivacus, and Bian's beast unearthed in Lufeng, as well as three-toed horses, hyenas, ancient pig beasts, saber-toothed tigers, and giant claw. There are a total of 128 kinds of paleontological fossils such as beasts, hornless rhinos, beavers, otters, touch, elephants, and deer. In addition, there are more than 50 pieces of Yuan Dynasty blue-and-white porcelain unearthed from Lufeng Luochuan Ancient Porcelain Kiln and Renxing Bailongjing Ancient Porcelain Kiln, two of which are the only ones in the world. The bronze ware hall displays bronze weapons and production tools of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period unearthed in Lufeng Guangtong. Such as 10 pieces of spears, swords, tomahawks, hoes, axes, etc., and 1 pieces of tin ware (hoes). In addition, there are a total of 38 bronze cast Buddha statues from the three religions of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism in the Yuan Dynasty, which are rare in South Asia. The Cultural Relics Hall mainly displays a large number of commemorative cultural relics left by the Chinese Workers and Peasants' Red Army's Long March over Lufeng, such as copper, copper pots, bowls, basins and so on. The video material hall mainly displays precious materials such as texts, photos, video photos and so on in the collection.
