Basilica of Saint Servatius

Limited access is given to the small chapel beside its main entrance. To see more you have to pay entrance fee €5 to access the treasury museum, main chapel & garden. Doors that are locked are out of bounds to visitors. Very informative & rich treasures on display but unfortunately the descriptions are in Dutch. There are also 2 types of candles that you can light up in the chapel or bring home home for €5 or €2.5.

This St. Fauss Cathedral is a typical Gothic spire. Especially this red tower is very striking. The inside of the church is very luxurious. It has a more historical and charm.

Two blocks west of the Market Square (Markt) along Grote Gracht Street, you will see the tall St. Selfast Church (Sint Servaasbasiliek). This medieval, cross-shaped rectangular cathedral is the oldest church in the Netherlands to commemorate the first Archbishop of the Netherlands, Selfast (Buried here in 384 AD). The original chapel was built in 530, while the Roman-style part was built in the following 1000-1250 years; some Gothic buildings were built in 1324-1556; and there was a large-scale renovation in 1828-1921. Usually, the church of St. Selfast will pay attention to three monuments: the west wing of the church has early Gothic and Roman carved arches; The second is the largest clock in the Netherlands, weighing 70 tons (15,432 pounds) in the south tower on the west side, which the Dutch call “Grameer” (granny); and the bust of St. Selfas and the relics of the many treasures displayed in the church.

The St. Sephus Cathedral is very eye-catching in the center of Macheng Square. Inside the church is an exhibition hall featuring some medieval ritual utensils. There are also bands performing at festivals, which is very lively.

Maastricht, the southern city of the Netherlands, has the oldest church in the Netherlands, the Church of St. Selfast, built in the 6th century, where the first generation of archbishops of the Netherlands were buried. The church, which is south of the ancient city wall and the oldest stone bridge in the Netherlands, the St. Selfas Bridge, which was built in the 13th century, was partially damaged and repaired in World War II.

On the edge of Macheng Square, it is only a few steps from the Paradise Bookstore. The red spire of the church is very distinctive, and the entire church building is also very majestic. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, when it rained, eating a waffle at the dessert shop on the edge of the square, the rain still had no sign of stopping, had to look at the church and then fill it away.

A church with a very beautiful appearance. I didn't catch up with the opening hours and couldn't go inside to visit. The red exterior wall is beautiful with a blue sky. There is a row opposite the church restaurant&bar, It is also very pleasant to sit down and rest.
