Palace of King of Jiama

Kama Township was born in Songzan Ganbu, Jiamayi is a rich land of 100 miles, surrounded by mountains in ancient times, a holy place with abundant water and grass, and was once the granary of Tibetan nobles. It is said that when Songzan Ganbu's father was in power, there was a Qiangba Minju Palace built here, and Songzan Ganbu was born in this palace. Today, the legendary palace is no longer there, and the descendants have built a archway in front of the original site, indicating the special status of the place.

On the way to Nyingchi, leaving Lhasa will pass through Songzan Ganbu birthplace not long after, is a small attraction, you can stop, rest, and then go over the Mira Pass.

Kama Palace is in Mozhugongka County, 73 kilometers west of Lhasa. It was the political center of royal ministers during the Tubu dynasty. In the 6th century, Songzan Ganbu's father, Nangri Songzan, crossed this barrier to the north of the Yarlung Zangbu River and came to the Mozhugongka, annexed the Supi tribe north of Lhasa in one stroke, and temporarily made a small residence in the Modi. Songzan Ganbu was born in the Karma Mingjiu Palace of the Mozhugongka.

The site of the Karma Palace is in the southwest of Mozhugongka County, adjacent to Sanye District in the southern region of Shannan. In 1640, the Mongol noble leader Gu Shi Khan entered Tibet, and the head of the Karma Chikang family met with his soldiers, and many ancient buildings were burned and destroyed. The 6th century palace has no longer existed, but now the castle is quite old, more than 700 years old, there are countless archery holes on the wall, there are a pit of pits outside the city gate, reminiscent of the smoke filled ancient battlefield. Today's Jiamagou has become an outing for some Lhasa tourists due to its beautiful scenery
