The dam is 96 meters high, the water catchment area is 53.45 square kilometers, and the total water storage capacity is 126 million cubic meters. After the completion of the Liyutan Reservoir, 700,000 metric tons of water is currently available daily. In addition to improving water supply capacity, it is used in conjunction with Shigang Dam in Dajiaxi Basin to stabilize water supply in Miaoli County and Changhua District of Taichung City.
