West exit of JR Mihara station
The statue of a Kobayakawa Takakage stands in Takakage Square at the west exit of JR Mihara station. Actually I had just 10 minutes time for the transfer, but it was enough to go out from the station,...
A stone monument of "Takakage Square" stood beside the nearby moat, but the essential statue of Takakage Kobayakawa was installed in the square that doubles as a bus rotating area. When I turned around the back, the origin was attached and it was found to have been built in 1966.
After passing through Mihara Station and walking in the west for a few minutes, I sat in the back of Takakage Square in the form of watching over Mihara Castle. It's not a big statue, but I thought the location and direction were exquisite.
Takakage Kobayakawa is the third son of Motonari Mori, who was said to be the champion of China. It was located at the site of Mihara Castle, JR next to Mihara Station in Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, where Takakage Kobayakawa was built. When you get off from the west exit, you will find a stone wall and moat at the castle tower site, and a seated statue of Takakage Kobayakawa. It is a castle ruins with easy access, and when you visit Mihara, please visit the castle ruins together.
When you exit the west exit of Mihara Station, there is a bus rotary, but in the middle you stood quietly looking for the remains of Mihara Castle Tower. The area outside the west exit is named Takakage Square, and it is a good place to see the remains of the castle tower and the stone wall.
