Marine Drive

The seaside is still very spectacular. After passing the famous "Gate of India" in Mumbai, you will see the Indian Ocean. However, India is really dirty, with garbage everywhere on the ground. The sea water is not blue at all, like the Yellow River.

As the largest city in India, Mumbai is famous for its uneven distribution of wealth and its colorful scenery. I visited here in June 2018. I had heard about the Chaupatti Beach and the long seaside promenade along the beach for a long time, so I spent half a day walking along the seaside promenade alone to experience the life of the locals. This is a good place for Mumbai citizens to take a walk day and night. During the day, countless people come here to either sit and watch the sea or take pictures. At night, all kinds of vendors gather here to sell all kinds of food and souvenirs. However, the beach here is not suitable for swimming because the water quality is very poor. It was drizzling the day I arrived, and the whole beach turned dark, but the local people's easy-going life left a very deep impression on me.

Marine Drive is a 3-kilometer-long boulevard in South Mumbai. When the lights are bright at night, the street lights along the avenue look like a string of pearls when viewed from a high altitude, so it is also called the Queen's Necklace. Walking along Marine Drive is the best place to experience the modern architectural style of South Mumbai, and it is also a good place to watch the sunrise and sunset. Many couples date here, but to be honest, the air quality in Mumbai is too poor, and the scenery of the seaside is also greatly reduced.

I walked here during the day and then the Amish from Mumbai took me to a great spot after dark to show me the Queens Necklace. It was a spectacular sight I had never seen before. The lights of Mumbai were reflected on the sea. If you go to Mumbai, don't miss the Marine Drive in the daytime and the Queens Necklace at night. I didn't take a picture of the Queens Necklace, but I will always remember this beautiful scenery.
