Bourbon Tunnel

In the center of Naples, just 150 meters from Piazza del Plebiscito, there is an underpass entrance that leads directly to the Bourbon Bunker, which is nearly 30 meters deep. This is an underground tunnel built in the middle of the 19th century. It is 530 meters long and has huge caves on both sides. It was originally an emergency shelter built by the French king for himself, and later turned into an air-raid shelter during World War II. Today, it has been converted into a museum, where visitors can admire old rusted cars and motorcycles, and experience the hardships of wartime sheltering in bomb shelters.
