Suka Shrine was relocated to the current shrine site as a guardian of the castle when the construction of Oyama Castle was built in 1160 AD, and it seems that it was built in the eastern part of the present Oyama City in 940 AD. It is a historic shrine that is said to have been worshiped by Ieyasu Tokugawa. The shrine is located along National Highway No. 4, and a long approach starts from the old Nikko Kaido. This shrine has a shrine treasure Zhu Mikoshi and a Horai mirror, but unfortunately it was not open to the public. Outside the south gate, brush mounds, seven stones and Koyama ...

There is the site of the main camp, which was the setting for the "Oyama Hyojo" where Ieyasu Tokugawa decided to "defeat Uesugi or Ishida". The shrine was built by Fujiwara Hidehira in the 10th century and has been looking at history. After passing the long approach, there was a timely kaya ring. The large precincts were spacious and I was able to visit calmly.

The approach starts from the street facing the old Nikko Kaido, but now it is once blocked by the road (sorry) According to the shrine legend, Fujiwara Hidesato was in 940 (Tenkei 3). Even though it was built in Nakakuki, Oyama City It is said that it started, and it was during the Heiji era (1159 – 1160) that it moved to its current location.

I passed by when I was running on the old Nikko Kaido. The old Nikko Kaido is a prefectural road 265 in this area. From here, the long approach continues to the shrine along the National Highway 4. It is a very interesting shrine with a sign saying that Ieyasu Tokugawa Koyama's evaluation and a shrine for prayer fulfillment are listed.

JR It is located a short walk from Oyama Station. When I went around 18:30, the gate was closed and I couldn't enter it, but the torii near the entrance is the oldest stone torii that exists in Oyama. 〇
