Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden

Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden is located on a mountainside in the waterfall area of MaeSa Valley, covering an area of 227 hectares. The garden is filled with a variety of local and imported flowers, including plants that grow in different climates. The scenery here is beautiful and the environment is elegant, but there are not many tourists here. It is very suitable for strolling and relaxing. The Botanical Garden is far from downtown Chiang Mai, and you can stop by after visiting the nearby Mae Sa Elephant Camp. If you rent a car and drive by yourself, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. The botanical garden is very large, and you need to pay an additional 100 baht to drive around the surrounding area, and motorcycles cannot enter, so you mainly rely on walking. You can pick up a guide booklet at the Visitor Information Centre after purchasing a ticket at the gate of the botanical garden. There are several recommended walking routes, you can stroll from the Rock Garden to the Thai Orchid Nursery, or take the Arboreta plant research route to see plants such as bananas, palms, ferns, etc. Climb the mountain for 1-2 hours and enjoy the view while enjoying the fresh air. In addition, the botanical garden has a rose garden, herbal museum, research center and other places worth exploring. There is a plant greenhouse area near the top of the mountain, which can be said to be the essence of the Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden. If you don't have the opportunity to walk into the real rainforest, the plant greenhouse area will let you experience its charm as if you were there. In these glass conservatories you can see water lilies, lotus flowers, lush leafy plants, and flowers with two or even three layers of petals. Entering the huge rainforest greenhouse, you can walk on the elevated platform overlooking the indoor waterfall, as if you have really come to the tropical rainforest.
