Sandridge Railway Bridge

This old railway bridge is now a pedestrian bridge to Queen's Bridge Square. The metal bridge is easy to find from other bridges. It also has interesting lights that extend along the top of the bridge. The glass and metal look very nice when walking along it. It is not until you look closely at it that you can see some information etched in the glass. There is a lot of historical information at the end of Queensbridge Square. Other panels have countries and information about them, so if you are a visitor it is worth trying to find your country. I think it's one of the more interesting bridges that's been walked.

The bridge is located in the heart of Melbourne. It crosses the Yarra River from Flinders Street Station to Southbank/Southgate. It is a solid structure that was previously a railway bridge. It is more than 100 million in length and was upgraded in 2006 to decorate nine artworks on walkers and bike paths. One sculpture is called Gayip, representing the Aboriginal community, and the other nine represents the emigration to Melbourne. The weight range of the sculpture is from 2000+-7000 + kg. Be sure to read the panel below each sculpture to further understand our history and the meaning of each part. You can walk along the Yarra River under the bridge, which is an exciting experience as you can see the huge structure from below. There are seats along the river so you can watch the swan gliding or take one of the Melbourne cruises under the bridge. It is currently in higher use due to recent pedestrian overpass repairs.

The Sant'Angelo Bridge is a great building, the whole bridge gives a stately feeling, we learned a lot about the customs of the local people, it is the most precious wealth of the local people. Highly recommended!
