We were told to visit this hidden gem - not disappointed! Explain that there are lots of free parking near the center, nice bathrooms and picnic areas in the shade. There is a nice path along the cliffs northwest which loops around - very relaxed (not difficult) with spectacular views of the ocean and coastline. We visited on a clear winter day and you can easily see Catalina! There are also lighthouses on the ground, just a few hundred yards south. The explanation center, while interesting, provides a good history of the area. It can even accommodate old lighthouse lenses made in France in the 1800s and used for a long time. Make sure you spend some time browsing all the fascinating exhibitions here. Really thumbs up!
